Informal workshop in January 2025
Fifteen members attended. Six beginners took up the offer of learning a willow English base and all progressed to side stakes and waling. Other members got on with their own projects using somband, cane fruit nets, willow bark and periwinkle. After the amazingly varied shared lunch Geraldine explained about the making of an oak swill and all the terminology associated with this heritage basket. The willow on offer in exchange for a charity donation was mainly bought by the beginners to progress their newly acquired skills. A very successful event achieving the goals of exchanging ideas, techniques and lots more.
