Exploring twining with Tim Johnson

In this two-day workshop Tim explained how the twining technique is used world-wide for weaving a variety of pliable plant material. To illustrate this, he brought along beautiful examples including those from Australia and Africa. We made a slim-line pouch with handles using rush. It had a double-walled construction resulting in an attractive diagonal patterning. We experimented also a variety of windmill base starts.
